Jungle Rush update.

Changes were made!!!

With help and guidance i eventually created a "masterpiece" :-) LOL
my initial intentions was to create sound that had a feel of a busy environment that builds up and creates an abstract of  sounds bursting from every direction . each sound was structured in a way in could be lengthened .

After finally putting together a structure than i and my lecturer agreed on , i began to edit the recordings.
i placed pan -delay on the audio and one bass section in order to give a sense of surrounding and also to enrich the audio's that were layered .
i noticed that one of the audio used (which was the main sound being used) had a clicking sound to it which was taking away from the soundscape , so removing that clicking sound instantly made a difference to the whole track. After all the sections were edited i adjusted the levels on the mixer and bounced my soundscape and link to this very blog :-DD onto the CD.

Jungle Rush.

I have finally completed my soundscape and have decided to name it Jungle rush , the reason being because when you play the track that is exactly the type of feeling you'll get from it.

when i began the soundscape i instantly knew i would be using my vocals , so i went to the audio suite to record random sounds. for me being random works better then going in with a master plan. it works better for me because i always end up with a unique piece rather then a piece that i may be subconsciously Imitating. however the repercussions of me doing that was prolonging the process of me actually putting the track together which was in fairness frustrating .

once i got the sounds i needed i uploaded all of them to Logic Pro 9 , i felt it was necessary for me to add a musical structure to my piece so i used the MIDI keyboard  and created a 'beat' , which came in straight after the first vocal which was manipulated by using the pitch shift II and flex tool in rhythmic .
the beat i created was taken from drums and percussions section and  selected the "Electronic Drum Kit" , play with the sounds on the midi keyboard and manipulated it using the flex tool.

Brain Eno once said "People tend to play in their comfort zone, so the best things are achieved in a state of surprise, actually".

personally i couldn't agree more with this statement. the best things stems from in my opinion experiments, random things ,at times when things are overly thought out and planned  it takes away from actually really "creating".

Brian Eno

April 2013 my lecturer shared with us a biographical film about Brian Eno.

please do read Brian Eno "Ambient Music".

Logic Pro 9 Flex tool

on the  8th may i decided to play around with the sounds using the flex tool in Logic .
the fact that my soundscape has been created using mainly vocals , i wanted to create an illusion around my vocals keeping listeners guessing and wondering.

so far it has worked . using the flex tool to manipulate my vocals has been very interesting it has enabled me to give  my piece a distinctive sound .

found the above article to be very interesting according to wired.co.uk Jason Singh composed the score for the silent movie using only his voice. which he mixes and loops in real time during the screening.

soundscape 101

creating my piece i have focused mainly on my vocals  i have manipulated and have edited my vocal on logic 9 also using the flex tool and pitch shift II to create sounds out of it. also in my soundscape i have involved a bass and some string instruments to give my piece a flow .

creating my soundscape.

OK! the piece i am trying to put together is not coming along as planned :/

It's frustrating however i will get there ! so again  i've turned to youtube for more information take a look..

I've taken  great interest in the ambient soundscape because  although  very well done,  i feel now that i am learning how to use logic,  playing around with the flex tool  using rhythmic,  ployphonic with the sounds i have already,  i am able to exaggerate my sounds to my liking and dare i say it... i'm getting good at this :)
